There is no denying that we all age. Our skin displays our age and when it comes to our facial skin, we wish it wouldn’t be too honest about it. We laugh, we kiss, we cry, we get angry, and as we do our facial muscles are stretching the skin. This leads to dryness and blotchy pigmentation of the skin, flatness to cheek, droopiness to eyelids, jawline and neck.
If that’s already bad news, a lot of other things are speeding up our ageing process. Air pollution, sun damage, the residue of your make-up, even the psychological changes and stress you go through age you. We are ageing faster than ever and the signs are showing.
Malvava, we think, is a great representative of modern women of the era. She is a successful make-up artist who tries her best to look after her appearance while juggling between clients, family and running a make-up studio. We got to sit with Malvava talking about what beauty means to most women. Working in beauty industry has given Malvava some insight on how modern women perceive beauty.
While fashion and make-up trends come and go, behind all the hype, women just want to feel good about themselves. When women are dressing up and putting nice make-up on, they hope to look good for others to see, that is true. But beyond all that, women are dressing up for themselves. They do whatever it takes to make themselves feel beautiful. What Malvava and I believe is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to feel and look good and we should celebrate women feeling beautiful about themselves.
MAHARVA, together with Malvava will start the conversation. The journey of loving oneself is not always easy and we think it shouldn’t get any harder. Women should do what makes them feel good and not feel bad for it. The transformation project we will be doing is a part of a bigger beauty journey that hopefully will involve more women along the way.
